WebSite Optimizations:The first step to promote the website is to design a search engine friendly website. To begin optimizations, you must determine at least 5 keywords which shall describe one major portion of the website. For example for a company providing software development services may have the following 5 keywords:1.Name of their software: example "Meta Tag Generator". 2.Software. 3.Nature of their software: example "html editor". 4.Development. 5.Other features:example "web development, SEO,Documentation, writing, release, license, etc" After having the keywords ready, the easiest and best way to check if your keywords are search engine friendly and relevant to your website, is, you can search atleast three search engines with each search term (keyword). With the listing of the companies and services, you may get an idea if your website falls in the same category or not. For a more advanced check you can use some of the free internet tools available on the internet to see if these keywords have been used in the past by people to search on search engines. You do not have to get worried about the aspects of the site not covered in these keywords as you still have space to add 740 keywords to your meta tags. These five keywords have been chosen to have the website optimized. We will research on more keywords when we reach the Search Engine Optimization level. After having chosen the best keywords, design your website such that there is a visible repetition of these words making sure that they are used atleast once in the - File Name - instead of naming your file product1.html you can use meta-tag.html (example). Title - The title of your page must have the keyword, atleast once. Description - The Meta tag description should have the keyword used it atleast once. BODY - The body of your document is where you can use all the keywords several times. Remember to include the keyword in a heading and on the other part of the body as well. You can put the keywords in image names, alts, etc. To make your website descriptive and se friendly at the same time, it would be a good idea to dedicate atleast one page to the keyword where you can name the file, and use the keyword repeatedly in every possible place where you can. The key point to remember here is that the content of the site should be readable and understandable. Stuffing your site with a list of keywords is not a good idea. You may succeed in temporarily obtaining a higher ranking, but many searchers avoid visting sites that have no meaningful title or description. We will not list sites that have a single word as their Title. NOTE: Keyword spamming - excessive repetition of the same keywords or keyword phrases in your site content, title and meta description tags - will result in your site's removal from search engines that use Meta tags, including Google, AOL, Yahoo, AlltheWeb, and AltaVista. As a practise, try and use your keywords atleast ten times on one page but at different locations and as a part of meaningful sentences. For example, having multiple senences saying "google is a very neat search engine, google's database is vast, google takes very less time to show the search results",is better than using the keyword like google, google, google, Google,Google's, etc. You should try to use them in meaningful sentences, having ten or more search terms listed on each page may be considered above average and your chances of a better listing are high. With the 5 chosen keywords, design the site as if these are the services you are offering and you want to make sure that anyone coming to your website should atleast read all five of them once. This approach really gives you an idea of what you want your site to speak when someone comes to it. For websites using Flash or Graphic content, you must try and use the keywords as much as you could in and around the graphics besides using them on the filename and title of your pages. Once all your keywords are included in the site and your content and design are all set to be published, you may move forward to the next step.
